Which insurance?

Insurances for foreign au pairs to The Netherlands
There are specific insurances for au pairs coming to The Netherlands. They cover for example, emergency medical costs, personal liability, extraordinary costs (for example a ticket home in case of serious illness, accident or death of a close relative) and during holidays in Europe with the host family. These insurances need to be taken out by the host family and before the au pairs leaves her home country.

ISIS Au pair insurance
Covers emergency medical costs, travel accidents, emergency costs, luggage and personal liability. Maximum duration: 2 years. Maximum age: 35 years. Choice between two coverage options. Coverage meets Schengen-visa requirements. Can only be taken out when the au pair has not yet left her home country. An one-time visit to the home country is permitted for a maximum period of 31 days. Coverage, premiums, benefits, conditions and online application.

Au pair insurance Mondial Assistance
Covers emergency medical costs, travel accidents, emergency costs, luggage and personal liability. Maximum duration: 18 months. Maximum age: 30 years. Coverage meets Schengen-visa requirements. Can only be taken out when the au pair has not yet left her home country. An one-time visit to the home country is permitted for a maximum period of 21 days.

Not a specific au pair insurance, but covers during au pair activities in The Netherlands too.
Travel insurance, covers medical costs, repatriation, travel accidents, luggage (optional) and liability. Maximum duration: 2 years. Maximum age of insured: 65 years. Three coverage options. Premiums per day. Coverage meets Schengen visa requirements. Host family (policy holder) needs to apply for this insurance. Can only be taken out if the au pair has not yet left the home country. CareMed
Not a specific au pair insurance. International travel insurance. Covers medical costs, can be extended with comprehensive package including luggage, liability, accidents and SOS-costs.
